Carnations

Did you know carnations express love, fascination and distinction? White carnations represent pure love and good luck while pink carnations represent a mother's undying love. Their silky, wavy petals are so simple and easy to love.

Home

I went back to Ohio for a vacation and got to visit my family and friends. It was a beautiful time away from Chicago.
My parents' garden is in full bloom and absolutely gorgeous. I also got some shots of the lovely sheltie, Rumour.

Pride and Prejudice

I went to the Green City Farmer's Market yesterday and bought a bundle of flox and peonies. I've been sitting here at my dining room table studying and have this bunch of flowers sitting here with me. While I'm studying I'm listening to the "Pride and Prejudice" soundtrack that was composed by Dario Marianelli. I have always loved that movie and for some reason, sitting here at this stark white table with my white laptop and a white pitcher of incredibly colorful flowers and listening to this music makes me want to watch "Pride and Prejudice" yet again. No matter how many times I see it I always cry.

Peonies!

Even though it's a been a little chilly here in Chicago, my neighbor's flowers are starting to bloom. One neighbor in particular has a big peony bush is their front yard and I am mesmerized by it. Every day as I pass by it I get to see the progression from a simple looking bush to a stem with a tight bud on it. Today as I passed by it was blooming!
