Every Wednesday and Saturday morning in the late spring through early fall Chicago has a multitude of farmer's markets. The one that I frequent is The Green City Market that is located in Lincoln Park on Clark Street. It is glorious. They have everything from your traditional fruits and veggies to home grown honey, artisan crafted cheeses, action stations where crepes can be ordered as well as crazy fresh sandwiches.
My favorite booth is the family from Michigan that brings cherries that are always so fresh and still warm from the sun. I feel like cherries are the quintessential summer fruits. They are only fresh in the summer, they go so well with ice cream and other delicious summer staples. Plus, sitting on your porch with a big glass of ice cold tangy lemonade and a big bowl of bright red cherries is divine, especially when it's so hot out that only cherries and lemonade can make it better.
